Brigadoon is a romantic musical with a book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, first performed in 1947. Set in the Scottish Highlands, the story revolves around two American tourists, Tommy Albright and Jeff Douglas, who stumble upon the mysterious village of Brigadoon during their hiking trip. They discover that Brigadoon is a magical place that only appears once every hundred years.

Tommy becomes enchanted by the village, especially with a local woman named Fiona MacLaren, and the two fall in love. However, Tommy learns that if he stays in Brigadoon, he will be trapped in its time loop and never return to the real world. The villagers live under the enchantment of their village, unaware of time passing in the outside world.

The musical's themes include love, time, and the tension between reality and fantasy. It features songs like "Almost Like Being in Love" and "Come to Me, Bend to Me," which highlight the emotional depth of the characters’ experiences.
